A rare 1935 World Series ticket, PSA-graded, is now available for purchase with Just Collect!

Nearly 90 years ago, the Detroit Tigers captured their first-ever World Series championship. The 1935 World Series showcased the Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers. Back in the days when suits and dresses were worn to the ballpark, a hot dog set you back a cool nickel, and ticket with a good view the World Series was just $5.50, this baseball ticket has witnesses history.

Game 2 of the 1935 World Series went to the Tigers. Detroit won the game 8-3 in front of a crowd of 46,742! Back in the 1930's, few people had the mindset of keeping a ticket from a baseball game. We were so far away from baseball card collectors storing their cards safely let alone holding onto a ticket. Someone was well ahead of their time, though, and we have the opportunity for you to own a piece of baseball history.

Graded by PSA, this ticket stub from game 2 is graded a 4! How rare is this ticket and in such condition? Of the 46,742 tickets available, PSA has only graded 29 according to their population report. Of all of the tickets graded from game 2, only 8 have been graded higher than this PSA 4.

In the game, Hall of Famer, Hank Greenberg, hit a home run! Greenberg won the AL MVP award in 1935 and 1940 on his way to the HOF induction in 1955. Other legendary players who took the field in this game are Mickey Cochrane, another two-time MVP winner (1928, 1934, class of 1947), Gabby Hartnett (1935 MVP, class of 1955), Charlie Gehringer (1937 MVP, class of 1949), and Kiki Cuyler (class of 1968).
