Offered for your consideration this week is a one of the premier early Babe Ruth cards, and one of the very few dating from the early 1920s, represented by this SGC graded 1921 E121 Series of 80 American Caramel Company issue.

The obverse features the young and surprisingly svelte "Bambino" in a throwing follow-through pose. Identified as the BABE RUTH R. F. - New York Americans variety, the image is surround by nicely centered borders and exhibits minor corner wear and toning. The card presents much nicer than the technical grade assigned and would be a solid addition to most collections.

The reverse displays bold and crisp text and also presents much better than the technically assigned grade. It is interesting to note that Ruth is pictured on this card in a Boston Red Sox uniform although he had been "sold" to the Yankees prior to the 1920 season. Even though he is appropriately identified as a member of the New York Americans, one can decipher the "Boston" (mostly covered by Ruth's throwing arm) across Ruth's chest. This image of Ruth is the very same image which was used on the 1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy candy card.

Do not miss out on this rare opportunity to add a very early Babe Ruth card to your collection!
