The 1927 W560 set is very rare—and very unique.  Only about 500 have been graded by PSA, most of which have been designated only ‘Authentic’.  These sets were issued as a deck of playing cards and the jovial Babe was included, appropriately, as the Joker. Measuring 1 ¾” by 2 ¾”, these were part of a set that also included other sports stars and celebrities.  There were 49 baseball players included, with the player and team names printed at the bottom.  They are sometimes found in uncut sheets.  There were four sheets issued in all.  Some were cut up and either collected or played with while others were kept uncut. The Ruth card we’re offering is the one most collectors need with only 41 total having been encapsulated by PSA.  That’s a remarkably low number considering the legion of Ruth collectors out there. Issued during his greatest season, the card is one of the more underappreciated Ruth pieces around. Distributed in far fewer quantities than some of the most popular Ruth cards, there is potential for growth with this card and we’re anxious to see where it winds up when bidding closes. If you have Babe Ruth cards to sell or want to consign them to auction, now is a great time.  We have buyers with cash who are looking to add them to their collections.
