Mickey Mantle is an American icon.  His 1951 Bowman #253 and 1952 Topps #311 baseball cards are two of the most desired cards for those that collect baseball cards, sports memorabilia, New York Yankees and items of American history.   Blonde-haired, blue-eyed and already a teenaged phenomenon, Mickey Mantle arrived in the New York Yankees Training camp in the Spring of 1951. Having terrorized the Western Association the previous season, Mantle was preparing to embark on what would become a legendary Yankees career. The 19 year-old Mantle is featured on his very first card in the 1951 Bowman Baseball card set. On this rookie baseball card, it appears as though “The Mick” posed for the picture at Spring Training as the Florida palm trees are visible in the background. As a part of Just Collect’s recent “Cape Cod Mickey Mantle Collection,” this lovely PSA 4 example of Mickey Mantle’s 1951 Bowman #253 card is currently being offered for auction on eBay.

While Mickey’s 1951 Bowman card is his first card, many collectors consider his 1952 Topps card to also be a rookie card. The iconic 1952 #311 Mickey Mantle baseball card, often called the postwar “Holy Grail” in baseball card collecting, was issued in the very scarce High Number Series by Topps. Another astounding piece from the “Cape Cod Mickey Mantle Collection,” this iconic Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps #311 card has been graded PSA 4 and is being offered for auction on eBay.

Just Collect is always an active and aggressive buyer of 1951 Bowman and 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle baseball cards from collections and estates in all grades and conditions. In addition to the Mickey Mantle rookie cards, Just Collect is also actively looking to purchase other Mickey Mantle cards, collectibles, memorabilia and autographs from Mickey’s playing days.
