Collectors have been obsessed by the 1952 Topps set for years. It’s no wonder, really. The set is one part hobby history, one part modern day “collecting monster” and one part work of art. There are few cards in the entire history of baseball card collecting that have more appeal for those who like to chase graded cards or even complete sets. This week, we can help you put a dent in your want list with some nice ‘52s! We have a total of 27 PSA-graded 1952 Topps cards on the block with our usual low minimum bids. Best of all, they are all graded PSA 6, 7 or 8, with the majority landing on that near mint (7) line. Veteran collectors know that the ‘7’ grade provides perhaps the best value for graded set collectors because it provides high quality examples at a relatively affordable price point. Of course, the 1952 Topps set is the home of the most valuable and most famous post-War card. The ’52 Topps Mickey Mantle was the company’s first ever card of the player who would define a generation of baseball fans. By association, the rest of the set has become enormously popular and valuable. Among the cards we’re offering are a rare Al Zarilla black back variation, one of just 8 cards graded PSA 8, with no examples graded higher. We also have a PSA 8 Owen Friend. Because of their age and size, ’52 Topps are often tough to find in anything resembling high grade. That’s why it’s always fun to see how many collectors take advantage of the chance to pick up nice cards from this landmark set.
