This is a beautiful example of the Seaver rookie, receiving an 8.5 on a 10 point scale. Just shy of a 9, this card features a pack fresh appearance with razor sharp corners. It also exhibits a clean surface with impeccable centering on the back, with its only flaw having 62/38 centering on the front, instead of the required 60/40 centering for a Mint 9 grade. Seaver, nicknamed "Tom Terrific", was an integral part of the Mets World Series run in 1969. He led the team, and league, in wins with 25, while posting an unheard of 2.21 ERA that season. He went on to pitch 20 seasons in the Majors, collecting over 300 wins, receiving Rookie of the year honors in 1969, 3 Cy young awards, and 12 All-Star appearances.
