Hockey card collectors have a rare opportunity this week.  We’re offering one of the two highest graded examples of the 1971-72 Ken Dryden rookie card, one of the better hockey cards of all-time. It’s garnered a lot of bidding interest from collectors, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see some investors in on this one as well. The Dryden card we have up for auction is one of just two ever to be awarded a ‘10’ (gem mint) grade by PSA.  While calling it a ‘holy grail’ is a stretch, it’s not an exaggeration to say that this is one of the finest, most important post-War hockey cards in existence. Dryden’s place in hockey history is secure.  He played only seven full seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, but led the Habs to six Stanley Cup Championships and won five Vezina Trophies as the NHL’s top goalie. The front photo features Dryden minding the net and it’s the only ‘in action’ card in the entire ’71-72 set. Dryden’s hockey career was just the beginning of his notoriety, however.  The Cornell graduate is a renaissance man who became an attorney, was elected to Parliament, has written books, and worked in business. Just Collect loves vintage hockey cards.  If you have some that you’re looking to liquidate, please give our offices a call or drop us a note via e-mail.  Our extensive customer list - not to mention those who bookmark our eBay listings each and every week, love to see them come into the marketplace.
