We Are Always Buying Cards

Just Collect is always buying collections and during the hundreds of contacts that we get every week, you hear so many different stories.  People make assumptions and ask some really interesting questions.  The basic discussion usually centers around what type of cards are in the collection, how old is the collection and what do the owners want to do with them.

The people that are looking to get an idea of what the value of their collection might be worth are always invited to submit the collection for a free appraisal

What Can You Offer Me?

A gentleman from the west coast recently contacted us about a collection that he inherited and had shopped around and asked us what we could offer for the collection.  It featured mostly rookies and star cards from the mid 1950's to the early 1960's.  He sent some images and we noted the approximate condition and offered a preliminary evaluation based upon the images. He was excited about the fact that we assessed the cards in condition that he felt were accurate and that we valued them at prices that he felt were consistent with what he was seeing in the marketplace.  We strive to accurately assess condition and real-time market value to make certain that we are always able to offer the most accurate pricing and the highest possible value for collections.

Some Serious Star Power

Some of the highlights includes rookie cards of Hall of Famers like 1954 Hank Aaron and Ernie Banks, 1952 Bowman Football Frank Gifford and 1957 Topps Johnny Unitas and many other rookie and star cards featuring a 1958 Roger Maris rookie card and cards of Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax and so many others.

So, What's Next

We offered to have in ship the cards to us using our FedEx account and we received the collection of about 100 or so star cards soon after.   Promptly, upon receiving them and advising the gentleman that the collection arrives, we reviewed them based upon condition, performed a full evaluation and presented the owner with a spreadsheet of the condition and respective value of each card based upon the condition and our purchase offer based upon these values.  He was more than pleased with our assessment and was very excited about and happy to accept our offer noting that is was much higher than he had been offered locally.

Curious, we asked how much he had been offered locally and he stated that he was offered about half of what we offered him and that was for his entire collection.  "Entire collection?" we asked.  He said that he had more cards, mostly commons, but didn't mention them to us because he didn't think that they had much value and he didn't think we'd be interested.  When we mentioned that we're always looking to purchase almost all vintage cards and his response was a rather surprised, "Oh, you buy commons, too?"  Yes, we do!!!   Maybe that will be another blog further down the road . . .

Our Buying Philosophy

We've run into a wide range of people and collections over the past decade. Although we are known for buying vintage sports cards and especially vintage basketball cards, we are also extremely interested in buying non-sports cards, also!

Every collection and every collector is different and we treat EVERY collection with the respect and attention that we show for our own collections. We understand that many have put their heart and soul into building their collection. So when you're ready to sell, Just Collect understands the feelings that you're going through and we will work with you to help you reach a decision that is a WIN/WIN, because if you're not happy, we're not happy.
