His dominance is also present throughout the hobby, as most of his cards have not only retained their value, but in some cases, have even increased in value - which is the trend we are currently seeing with Hall of Fame rookie cards. Another reason for the steady growth in Whitey Ford's rookie card has been due to condition. Most examples are found in EX or lesser condition, which in turn creates a tremendous market for high graded examples - like the card offered here. According to SGC's population report, only about 5% of Ford's rookie cards have even reached the Near Mint threshold.
