Carlton Fisk Home Run Ball is Being Sold as Shares

Fractional shares offer collectors the chance to own a piece of sports history
  • July 28, 2022

You can be part owner of memorabilia from some of the greatest moments and iconic sports cards.

Carlton Fisk's game-winning home run ball that clanked off the left field foul pole during Game 6 of the 1975 World Series was on display at Fenway Park. The display gave Red Sox fans an opportunity to see a piece of baseball history up close. It was a promotion between the Red Sox and Collectable: an investment marketplace that allows anyone to own fractional shares of high-value offerings in the memorabilia markets. Shares of the Fisk home run ball are being offered to fans for $5 apiece. The ball has an estimated value of $280,000.

In one of the most iconic moments in baseball history, the Red Sox legend "waved" the ball into fair territory as it flirted going foul before hitting what is now known as the "Fisk Pole". The walk-off homer is consistently on the top ten lists of baseball's best moments and has been named the greatest game ever played by the MLB Network.

Just Collect is no stranger to historic baseballs. Recently, we had the honor to purchase a Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig signed baseball which was obtained through the family of Walter Smallwood: a teammate of Ruth and Gehrig. The story behind the signed baseball is a definite must-read.

We are always buying rare baseballs like the Fisk ball. Do you have the Kirk Gibson home run ball from Game 1 of the 1988 World Series? How about Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World" ball? If you do, or any other historic baseballs, reach out to us. We are interested.

WE ARE ALWAYS BUYING

If you have Mickey Mantle cards you'd like to sell, I'd be interested in buying them! I am very familiar with buying Mickey Mantle Topps cards, including his rookie card. I purchased a Mantle rookie that was hiding on a shelf with jars of pickles!  Read the awesome story about the "pickles" Mantle HERE. A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card was also part of The Black Box Collection that contained six complete vintage baseball sets.

Just Collect is always buying vintage sports and non-sports cards from 1879 to 1979 as well as select modern cards. If you have a collection that you are considering selling, contact us today to discuss or get our industry-leading purchase offer. If you have a collection that you want to be appraised, please contact us and we would be happy to discuss your collection and help you understand the real cash value of your collection in the current marketplace. Check out the Just Collect Buy List.

We always offer a FREE APPRAISAL for your collection here at the Just Collect site. Just click here:

We offer many ways to evaluate your cards other than using our website, too.

  • Travel to us

If you can make the trip here like the son from my hometown did for this collection- we can make a deal at the office. We once met a father-son duo that drove eight hours from Virginia to meet us to sell a Michael Jordan rookie card stored in Tupperware since 1986 - great read here

  • Come to the convention

We keep a LIST of the card that shows we'll be attending.  Come stop by the Just Collect table and chat.

  • Meet in-person

If you have a valuable collection and want us to come to you, we'll hop on the next plane out. We recently took a trip to California to purchase a collection that included three Jackie Robinson 1948 Leaf rookie cards that you can read about here.

  • Meet in New York City

We have another location in New York you can meet us at; read all the information here.

  • SHIP your collection

If you choose to mail your cards for an appraisal, we will evaluate your cards for FREE still. If you choose not to sell the cards, we'll ship them back with shipping fees paid by us!  We can offer our FedEx account with 2-day shipping, fully insured, all covered by us. Simply contact the office to set up this option.

OUR BUYING PHILOSOPHY

We've run into a wide range of people and collections over the last 25 years. Although Just Collect is known for buying vintage sports cards and especially vintage baseball cards, we are also extremely interested in buying non-sports cards, too!

Every collection and every collector is different and we treat EVERY collection with the respect and attention that we show for our own collections. We understand that many have put their heart and souls into building their collections. So when you're ready to sell, we understand the feelings that you're going through and will work with you to help you reach a decision that is a WIN/WIN, because if you're not happy, we're not happy.
