Remember when having a player sign a sports card was considered taboo? Now, 50 years later, we're all wishing we did have athletes sign their cards. If you were savvy enough to have your cards autographed and are interested in selling, Just Collect is buying vintage, signed sports cards! Check out a few cards we currently have, what is on our buy list, and how you can contact us any time for a free appraisal.
It wasn't too long ago when collectors frowned upon a player signing their cards - especially a rookie card. After all, the card is being written on. Some collectors would have athletes sign their second-year cards instead, to preserve the rookie card." Today, we all kick ourselves for NOT having Mickey Mantle sign his 1952 Topps rookie card. At Just Collect, we LOVE signed, vintage cards, and are ready to BUY your collection.
Below are photos of signed cards we have purchased during our 20 years in business. As an example of which cards we'd love to purchase, the Dodgers Icon, Sandy Koufax, starts us off. In the first photo you can see two 1961 Topps and three 1962 Topps signed Koufax cards. A four-time World Series champion and three-time Cy Young winner who also pitched four no-hitters, few, if any, did it better on the mound than Koufax.
Eddie Mathews, Ron Santo, Harmon Killebrew, Brooks Robinson, and Yogi Berra signed cards follow in the second photo. The card really stealing the show here is in the center of the bottom row - that is a 1961 Topps card featuring autographs of both Mathews and Hank Aaron!
Just Collect is buying signed cards from ALL sports! As you scroll through the photos, you will see signed rookie cards of Jerry West (1961 Fleer) and Julius "Dr. J Erving" (1972 Topps). West was a 14-time All-Star and Dr. J won MVP awards and titles in both the ABA and NBA. A 1948 Leaf Chuck Bednarik follows. Bednarik is in both the College and Pro Football Hall of Fame! A 1954 Topps signed hockey card of Red Sullivan is next; we think that blue ink on the white background is incredible! While we are focusing on sports cards, we can't say no to a 1977 1st Series Star Wars auto of Carrie Fisher.
Here are a few players we are interested in signed cards of:
We're looking for pre-war cards (such as 1909-11 T206 and 1933 Goudey), 1950s - 1970s, and some cards from the 1980s if they are rookie cards of Hall of Famers (like the 1980-81 Topps Larry Bird - Magic Johnson rookie card or the 1981 Topps Joe Montana rookie card). Just Collect is buying both graded and ungraded cards!

If you can make the trip here like the son from my hometown did for this collection- we can make a deal at the office. We once met a father-son duo that drove eight hours from Virginia to meet us to sell a Michael Jordan rookie card stored in Tupperware since 1986 - great read here.
We keep a LIST of card shows we'll be attending. Come stop by the Just Collect table and chat.
