Written by Monte Jennings | Apr 27, 2023 1:02:29 AM

With the NBA Playoffs underway, we want to offer you a spot in a complete set break of 1969 Topps basketball cards. In the set are rookie cards of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Walt Frazier, and card of stars such as Oscar Robertson and Willis Reed!

We're proud to team up with our sister company,  for this amazing 1969 Topps basketball set break!

1969 TOPPS BASKETBALL COMPLETE SET BREAK

  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Lew Alcindor) rookie card graded PSA 4
  • Walt Frazier rookie card graded PSA 6
  • Oscar Robertson graded PSA 6
  • Willis Reed graded PSA 6
  • Wilt Chamberlain graded PSA 5 MK
  • John Havlicek rookie graded PSA 5
  • All 99 cards are in the set!

Topps didn't release a full basketball card for nearly ten years when this 1969 set hit store shelves; the last release was the 1957 Topps set. It is hard to imagine not having a pack of basketball cards to open for a decade! When you're away from the game that long, you have to come back in a BIG way, right? These 1969 Topps basketball cards measure 2 ½" x 4 11/16" in size. For comparison, a standard card size is 2 ½" x 3 ½". These beautiful cards have earned the nickname "Tall Boys."

The anchor of the set is a rookie card of the legendary Lew Alcindor (later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). We could fill up this entire page with Kareem's stats - he is a six-time NBA champion, a six-time league MVP, and until this season (passed by LeBron James) he was the all-time leading scorer. The very first card you see above is Kareem's rookie. There is the legend, ball in-hand, maybe looking to score one of his 38,387 career points. The oval shape inside of the card is very unique too. In that group of four cards is a pair of Knicks! The New York Knicks are actually winning in the playoffs this year! At this very moment, the Knicks are a few minutes away from a first-round victory over the Miami Heat. What better time than now to try and land that Walt Frazier rookie card or the Willis Reed. Despite not playing a game since 1974, The Big O, Oscar Robertson, ranks second all-time in career triple-doubles with 181. These cards pictured are the exact cards in the set break.

As there are 99 cards in the break, only 99 spots in the break will be sold - this ensures that you will take home a card from the set. The list of names is always randomized LIVE on the show as the break occurs; you have the same chance as everyone else in the break to land the cards you desire. For example, after the randomization, if your name is in spot 25, card #25 is yours - the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar rookie card!

Every spot you purchase will bring a vintage card from the 1969 Topps set to your personal collection.

Travel back in time when you collected this set as a kid or you heard your dad tell you stories about opening up these wax packs in search of his favorite cards. Back in 1969 when The Brady Bunch debuted (you're welcome for getting the theme song in your head), Woodstock happened (August 15th-18th in Bethel, NY), and the moon landing (July 20th).
