Mantle, Mays, and Aaron Highlight Bazooka Gum Baseball Collection

1960's and 70's Uncut Bazooka Gum Panels from Nebraska Collection
  • April 12, 2025

Uncut, original boxes of Bazooka gum with baseball legends have been discovered and purchased by Just Collect. Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, and more from the Nebraska Collection.

Remember chewing Bazooka gum? You ripped open the wrapper, put in that square and got ready to blow a big bubble as you were looking at the dandelions while playing right field in your little league game. Do you also remember the boxes of Bazooka that came with baseball cards on the back? We discovered and purchased a collection of these cards along with a few uncut, original boxes!

1960's & 70's BAZOOKA GUM COLLECTION

In the 1960's and 1970's, a box of Bazooka gum would sit on the counter of your local store. About 25 pieces of gum per box, but you only need a piece or two. Unless - unless you collected baseball cards! On the boxes were a panel of baseball stars such as Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, and more iconic players.

Unlike Topps who put their cards inside of a wax pack along with their stick of gum, Bazooka placed cards on the outside of their box of gum. Starting in 1959, you could find baseball cards on a box of Bazooka. A total of 23 players were in the inaugural set, and Bazooka continued including their boxes with baseball players until 1971. Bazooka released more cards later in years but nothing like these vintage boxes.

Below, you can see in-tact boxes along with a few cut cards. The first image below has a full box with Willie Mays! Below Mays is a cut Mantle. Hank Aaron is on the uncut box in the second photo. As you scroll left, look at the baseball history! This collection has boxes uncut from the days when gum was about a dime, you didn't have a mortgage and you read the box score in the paper to see how your team did the night before.

These Bazooka Gum cards were part of a huge collection we purchased from a lifelong collector named Uncle Curtis. When we traveled to appraise the collection, we were amazed by both the volume and variety of cards, premiums, and memorabilia. We paid Uncle Curtis $77,000 for "The Nebraska Collection." For the first time, we are sharing the collection of the Bazooka Gum!
