Don Mattingly, Reggie Jackson, Ben Rice, Jazz Chisholm, and many, MANY more New York Yankees players are signing autographs and offering photo-ops at the Pinstripe Pride event this month!
Growing up, my all-time favorite player was Don Mattingly. Donnie Baseball had me tune into Yankees games as he rocked #23 at first base. From his 1985 MVP award to not shaving those sideburns on the Simpsons, Mattingly has been my guy! Fresh off his (so close - so, so close) World Series appearance with the Blue Jays, I have the opportunity to meet Mattingly later this month. You also have the chance to meet a player your either rooted for growing up or love now! The show is STACKED with names!
WHAT:
The Pinstripe Pride event

As you see by the cover photo, I had the pleasure of meeting current Yankee, Oswaldo Cabrera, for a photo-op! Cabrera will be at the show again this year, too.

Fan favorites and role players will be at the show, too. A player I enjoyed rooting was Homer Bush, member of the 1998 World Series championship team. Homer will be at the show!
A unique name standing out to me is Brien Taylor. I have never seen Taylor do an autograph signing! Brien Taylor was the first pick taken in the 1991 MLB draft. In High School, Taylor had a 1.25 ERA and struck out 213 batters - in only 88 innings. He. Threw. Heat. Sadly, Taylor never made it to the big leagues; he injured his shoulder in a fight off the field. After shoulder surgery, Taylor lost the speed on his fastball. In 2012, Taylor was charged with drug trafficking and sentenced to 38 months in prison. I remember when Taylor made it to AA; he played for the Albany-Colonie Yankees which was my hometown team. In Albany, NY., Taylor, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, and others played ball at Heritage Park. I brought my 1992 Topps baseball card in hopes to get Taylor to sign it, but never managed to have him ink up that beauty. Taylor will be signing autographs at the Pinstripe Pride event - I gotta bring that Topps card.
Will YOU be heading the event? Hope you get to meet your Yankee idols!
