Michael Jordan 1992 Olympic Dream Team original type 1 photos have been proudly purchased by Just Collect! These rare pieces were unexpectedly brought to our booth at the National Sports Collectors Convention. From the greatest basketball team ever assembled, we are ecstatic these historic pictures have made their way to Just Collect.
We've had some unbelievable items brought to our booth at various conventions all over the Country. At Just Collect, we are always buying! We offer a free appraisal for you, too. While at the National Sports Collectors Convention, a few rare photos were carried to our booth and displayed down on our table. We couldn't believe our eyes!
A "Type 1" photo is the most coveted when collecting photographs. Type 1 photos come from the original negative and developed from that original negative no more than two years after the picture was taken. A collector brought a few Type 1 photos to our booth, interested in selling each. Our Vice President, John, took one look at the photos and knew our owner, Leighton, would be interested!
These Type 1 photos are of Michael Jordan. The six-time NBA champion, five-time MVP, the face of Nike, and member of the 1992 Olympic basketball team that won the gold medal, Jordan is KING when it comes to basketball memorabilia. Dubbed The Dream Team, the 1992 Olympic basketball team roster was filled with legends such as Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, and more. In the first game, USA outscored Angola by 68 points, winning 116-48. The team never looked back, besting every team by a huge margin. The closest game USA played was in the Gold Medal game, winning by "only" 32 points.
Leighton personally collects Michael Jordan items, and love Type 1 photos, but was making a separate appraisal and purchase when the photos were presented to us. John reviewed the photos, appraised each, and made a fair offer for these special images knowing they'll be going to a great home in Leightons private collection. The owner was paid right at our booth! The moment Leighton was available, he came back to the Just Collect booth and we caught his smiling face on video as he saw these Michael Jordan Type 1 photos.

The photographer of these photos is Bill Gillingham. After a little research, the photo of Jordan dunking looks to be captured on THIS highlight reel! The second Type 1 photo of Jordan is of him in the usual #23 as he took the court for the Chicago Bulls. Which photo do YOU think is cooler?
