The jersey Michael Jordan wore during Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals sold for $10.1 million dollars at an auction held by Sotheby's. The final sale price set a record for a piece of game-used memorabilia. Jordan's jersey surpassed the $9.3 million dollar record for sports memorabilia previously held by Diego Maradona's "Hand of God" jersey but comes in second in the overall price for a collectible to Mickey Mantle's 1952 Topps rookie card.

In Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals, Jordan would finish with 33 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. In that game, the host Utah Jazz would win in overtime 88-85 to take the series lead, but the Bulls would eventually win the series in 6 games behind Jordan's 33.5 points per game average. It was the Bulls' sixth championship in 8 years and their second Three-Peat. It would be the last time Michael Jordan and the Bulls would appear in the NBA Finals. The Bulls' 1997-1998 season was labeled "The Last Dance" by coach Phil Jackson after being told by management the team would be broken up after the season. A documentary of the same name originally aired on ESPN and chronicled Michael Jordan's last season with the Bulls.

The red road Chicago Bulls jersey is only the second Michael Jordan game-used Finals jersey to appear in an auction. The other was a home jersey from Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals which sold in 2015 for $104.281.

We have another location in New York you can meet us at; read all the information here.
