Just Collect has purchased a monster Pokémon collection!
Here at Just Collect, we're known for being the leader in purchasing vintage sports cards, but that's not all we do. As the landscape in the hobby changes year by year, Just Collect is always on the lookout for what's making waves. With our recent foray into the TCG side of the hobby, we're pleased to announce a beautiful collection purchased last month by our TCG Specialist, Sam!
While many may know of Pokémon from the children's TV show or the video games, there is a huge market for TCG, which is its own thriving ecosystem. Though there is a big difference between sports cards and Pokémon cards. While both have fluctuating prices, Pokémon are never benched or retire! There are cards that will always have a high value (like a special Charizard or a Pikachu), but unlike sports cards, Pokémon's popularity rests solely on how well-liked they are, and how beautiful the art is.
While some of our collections have an in-depth backstory, others are collections that we come across by chance, such as this one.
Just Collect has been eying up rare and interesting Pokémon cards. Whether it be graded or ungraded, Just Collect has been trying to break into the card space, and these cards below seem to be the perfect way for us to make an entrance.
Sam received an appraisal form that was just what he was looking for in order to bring Just Collect further into the TCG space. The original owner of this collection had amassed 100 Full Art Trainer cards. This blew Sam away and he had to know more. After some initial correspondence where he gave a preliminary evaluation, the collection’s owner felt confident that Sam would guide him through the process and offer a fair amount for all the cards.
Of course, a collection of Full Arts is very impressive on its own, but Sam knew there was more to it than that. Once he started digging into it, he learned that it featured over 100 PSA 10 graded cards!
When asked about the collection, Sam said that it was definitely a very important collection for Just Collect to buy in order to establish ourselves in the TCG space. The sheer amount of excellent cards in the collection took him back to the first time Just Collect closed another substantial Pokémon lead.
While the collection featured dozens of sought after cards, the best ones were a Professor Juniper Plasma Freeze, Hex Maniac XY Collection Promo, XY BSP Karen and Lillie Ultra Prism. These cards are very rare to find in perfect condition!
After taking time to go through everything meticulously, Just Collect spoke with the original owner, who was very impressed to see just how much his collection was worth and how carefully we went through it. After verifying the collection in person, Just Collect made an offer and the original owner parted with his beloved collection!
