In 2013, Upper Deck created an exclusive employee set of Precious Metal Gem cards. In that set is where you can find a card of the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Or owner, Leighton, has one of the very rare cards and while meeting you at the 2023 National Sports Collectors Convention, a second Hogan PMG appeared! Check out the unique moment these "twins" appeared together for the first and perhaps only time. Just Collect does buy wrestling cards, too!
Working for a card company can come with nice perks! Back in 2013, Upper Deck created a special, employee-exclusive set of purple Precious Metal Gem cards. There are only 6 cards in the set, and just 125 copies of each card made. You had to work for Upper Deck to receive one of these special "PMG" cards; neither were inserted into packs like other cards you see. The athletes in the set are:
Over the last decade, it appears a few employees have placed their cards for sale in places such as eBay or auction houses. Our owner, Leighton Sheldon, purchased one of the Hulk Hogan cards for his personal collection. Hogan is the Babe Ruth of wrestling. You may have never seen a single wrestling match in your life, but The Hulker's presence in the wrestling world was so prominent, you know his name regardless. Hulk made us want to say our prayers and take our vitamins as kids, and we all yelled when Hogan slammed Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 3. If you want a card from this set, it's the Hogan card.
Leighton has his card graded as a perfect 10 by PSA. Of all of the 125 cards known, just 4 have been graded as Gem Mint PSA 10 according to the population report. While we were buying and selling collections at booth 2102 during the National last week, Leighton brought his card to put on display for you to see; this card is definitely eye-catching. We did not expect this to happen:
Twins! Hogan is rearing back to raise a fist against maybe The Rock from his later days in the ring or Yokozuna in the early 90's. Hulk is wearing the red and yellow tights instead of his yellow trunks he did when we were kids. The cards are metallic and the purple "gem" background really pops.
With just 125 of these Hulk Hogan cards known to exist, we're not certain how many, if any, have ever been pictured together before. Did the Upper Deck employees have a company BBQ where they brought their cards? Was a game of Go Fish played with a deck of PMG? We may never know, much like we not see two of the Hulkster cards together again. You only see things like this at the Just Collect booth during the National! Want to know a secret? We already have our booth picked out for the 2024 National! Check back here on the Just Collect blog as we reveal all the info!
Just Collect does buy wrestling cards. We specialize in all vintage card collections. You have read stories such as the the unbelievable 22 Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig 1933 Goudey baseball cards discovered in the Arizona Goudey Find and the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card from the Tampa Collection when it comes to our baseball card purchases, but of course we do buy vintage wrestling cards, too. If you have high-grade 1982 Wrestling All-Stars, 1985 Topps WWF or sealed wax, we are always interested. Leighton once opened a pack of 1985 Topps WWF cards with Hall of Famer, Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, and during the break Dragon showed Leighton the difference between a "working" and a "shooter" wristlock. One is fake and one not so much...

We keep a LIST of card shows we'll be attending. Come stop by the Just Collect table and chat.

We have another location in New York you can meet us at; read all the information here.

We can offer our FedEx account with 2-day shipping, fully insured, all covered by us. Simply contact the office to set up this option.
