With the new Amazon Prime documentary, Reggie, about the legendary Reggie Jackson, we wanted to offer you a spot in a complete set break of 1969 Topps baseball cards. This set includes the rookie card of Mr. October, as well as cards of Mickey Mantle, Roberto Clemente, and more!
After watching Reggie, the new documentary on Mr. October, Reggie Jackson, we decided to do two things: 1. figure out where we could get a Reggie bar, and 2. offer you a chance at a Reggie rookie card!
We're proud to team up with our sister company,
The highlight of the set is the Reggie rookie card. The cards you see above are the exact cards that will be in this set break. Top row, middle, is a young Reggie in his A's uniform, perhaps gazing at the field he'll soon dominate. You might recognize Reggie Jackson as a Yankee, but before he wore the pinstripes, Reggie was a star as an Athletic. He was part of three consecutive World Series winning teams from 1972-74, and won the AL MVP award in 1973. After winning two more World Series championships as a Yankee, the slugger retired with 563 career home runs and is a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
As Reggie's career was just starting, the great Mickey Mantle was winding down. The first card you see above is the last of Mantle's playing career. The Mick his holding a bat, lefty, maybe looking to belt one of his 536 career home runs. Mantle retired on March 1, 1969, and Topps included him as card #500. In his final season, Mantle was 36 and still belted 18 home runs.
There is a lot of star power in this set. Roberto Clemente was a 15-time All-Star, won two World Series championships, and collected 3,000 hits before tragically passing away in a plane crash as he helped delivery supplies to Nicaragua following an earthquake. Clemente looks like he means business on that card! Nolan Ryan, the all-time strike out king, has a baby face in his Mets uniform. Hank Aaron is in the set, and at age 35 was hot in pursuit of Babe Ruth's career home run record.
As there are 666 cards in the break, only 666 spots in the break will be sold - this ensures that you will take home a card from the set. The list of names is always randomized LIVE on the show as the break occurs; you have the same chance as everyone else in the break to land the cards you desire. For example, after the randomization, if your name is in spot 260, card #260 is yours - the Reggie Jackson rookie card!
Every spot you purchase will bring a vintage card from the 1969 Topps set to your personal collection.
Travel back in time when you collected this set as a kid or you heard your dad tell you stories about opening up these wax packs in search of his favorite cards. Back in 1969 when The Brady Bunch debuted (you're welcome for getting the theme song in your head), Woodstock happened (August 15th-18th in Bethel, NY), and the moon landing (July 20th).
