From a Mickey Mantle Rookie Card to a "Box of Old Junk"!

With the year half over (seriously, where has the time gone?), we recap the Top 3 Collections we have proudly purchased here at Just Collect. Wait until you see what was in a box of "old junk" - hint: it wasn't junk!

THE JOE McCORD FAMILY COLLECTION

Since 1910, over a century ago, this collection of vintage tobacco cards had been owned by the same family. Passed down from generation to generation, over 400 T205 and T206 baseball cards have been privately owned, unknown to the hobby since the days when television had yet to be invented! Until I sat down to provide a free evaluation I thought the entire collection consisted of just 11 cards; you can imagine the excitement here when hundreds more tobacco cards came through the door! Highlighted by legendary players like Ty Cobb and Cy Young, Just Collect is proud to have purchased these beautiful pieces of history, including one very "interesting" card.

Over 400 vintage tobacco cards from both the T205 and T206 sets are in this collection!

THE TAMPA COLLECTION

1952 Topps Mickey Mantle and Jackie Robinson-1

A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card with a unique story from a young boy that used to take this iconic card to school, until he told dad what the card was really worth, has been proudly purchased by Just Collect. This iconic card stands tall among a fresh-to-the-hobby find of over 1,000 vintage baseball cards from the 1950's. We are excited to introduce you to the Tampa Collection.

Over 1,000 vintage baseball cards from the 1950's are included in The Tampa collection including some of the most legendary players in the game!

THE BOX OF OLD JUNK COLLECTION

When cleaning out her parent's house, Amy found what she described as a "box of old junk." One person's trash is another person's treasure! Inside a box was over 1,000 vintage baseball and football cards including dozens of Hall of Famers. In the box that was once thought to have been discarded was a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle rookie card. We're proud to have purchased this vintage collection from Amy and her family. We are excited to show you the contents, and also provide a tip on cards that may be in poor condition - hint: these can still be very valuable.

Over 1,000 vintage cards from the 1950's were in the box and one of the cards quickly stood out: a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle rookie card!

SHIP your collection

If you choose to mail your cards for an appraisal, we will evaluate your cards for FREE still. If you choose not to sell the cards, we'll ship them back shipping fees paid by us! We can offer our FedEx account with 2-day shipping, fully insured, all covered by us. Simply contact the office to set up this option.

We've run into a wide range of people and collections over the last 25 years. Although Just Collect is known for buying vintage sports cards and especially vintage baseball cards, we are also extremely interested in buying non-sports cards, too!
