Would you turn down an instant $2,000 profit on a card you JUST purchased? A couple did exactly that after purchasing a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card from Just Collect at the National Sports Collectors Convention.

The 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie is one of our favorite cards! After breaking the color barrier in 1947, Robinson became a legend on and off the field. The 1947 Rooke of the Year award went to Robinson, and he followed that up with an MVP award in 1949. A World Series championship came in 1955 with the Brooklyn Dodgers beating the New York Yankees. The Hall of Fame came calling in 1962. Today, Jackie Robinson's #42 is retired across all of MLB. A Jackie Robinson rookie card is a must-have for any collector.

A couple had the 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson on their minds while at the National Sports Collectors Convention. We had a stellar example of this card, graded PSA 4, available for sale at our booths. Steve and Brittany walked the show floor and decided Just Collect was the place to purchase their card. We worked out a deal to sell the card to Steve and Brittany for $18,850. A few seconds later, the couple thought about SELLING the card!

While Steve and Brittany were purchasing the card from us, another collector saw the beautiful treasure and wanted to buy the card from them! Not for $18,850, though - the gentlemen offered $20,850 to buy the card on-the-spot. Moment of truth - would Steve and Brittany sell the card they JUST purchased for a $2,000 profit?

If you choose to mail your cards for an appraisal, we will evaluate your cards for FREE still. If you choose not to sell the cards, we'll ship them back shipping fees paid by us!
