Collectors looking for a fun and affordable way to add an original Babe Ruth card to their collections might want to check out our current eBay offerings.  We’re featuring a 1922 E121 card of the Babe holding… a bird. Long time vintage collectors may be familiar with this unusual card, but if you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth a look. The circumstances surrounding the photo have been lost to time but it was likely a promotion of some sort.  The  photo was unusual enough for inclusion in this popular set of cards.  After all, though, how many cards can you show in one series that have Ruth batting or pitching?  It had to have been greeted with guffaws at the time of issue and it’s a curiosity now. The card we’re offering shows wear but has been graded SGC Authentic and while we expect strong interest as usual with any vintage Ruth card, this may be an opportunity to pick one up at a bargain price. The E121 series is one of the few comprehensive sets of the era.  Jammed with stars and featuring great black and white photos, it’s very popular with collectors.  This is one of a few different Ruth cards in the series, but clearly the most unusual—and very tough to find in high grade. Babe Ruth cards are as hot as ever.  Authentic examples from his playing days continue to attract strong interest from serious collectors and those who simply want an authentic card of baseball’s greatest icon. Many of the newcomers to collecting go straight to Ruth.  We’re always buying them and are also happy to take consignments to our weekly eBay auctions.  There’s no doubt if you have one to sell that it’s a great time to do so.
