1952 Topps Baseball PSA 8

Of the more than 160,000 1952 Topps baseball cards graded by PSA, less than 10% have ever been deemed of sufficient quality to earn an 8, 9 or 10 rating.  This week, we’re offering five cards from that exclusive club in our eBay listings. Collectors have a chance to bid on one of this iconic set’s most sought after ‘common’ cards; the black-backed variation of #70 Al Zarilla.  The PSA 8 we’re offering is one of just eight ever graded at that level.  The 1952 Topps set is notorious for being off cut and, of course, after 60 years edge and corner wear are normal.  However, this card appears to have been pulled from a pack last week and it’s one of precious few that exist. The Zarilla is joined by a #26, Monty Irvin, also grading 8.  Featuring outstanding centering and nice corners, it’s received strong interest from bidders this week. Other ’52 Topps we’re offering include #130 Sheldon Jones.  Just one card grades higher than this 8 on PSA’s report.   It’s another one that will prove popular with Set Registry collectors.  There is also a PSA 8 Frank Hiller (only three graded higher) and a Connie Ryan, carrying the same NM/MT designation.  Even if you’re not ready to bid on them, they’re worth a look just to appreciate how nice these vintage beauties truly are. 1952 Topps cards remain enormously popular.  We wish we could buy them all day long because they have a tremendous following and we love to help collectors complete their sets.  It’s a valuable issue but also historic as the first ever full set of active players ever produced by Topps.  Simply put, ’52 Topps changed the game.  It’s the home of the Mickey Mantle Topps rookie high number.  Yet the entire set has appeal on many different levels. We know of many collectors looking to add quality examples of 1952 cards so if you have some you’d consider parting with, we can help you attain top dollar.  Give us a holler!
