Just Collect has thousands of customers via our weekly auctions on eBay, including hundreds of customers that buy from us on a very regular basis. Many of these customers call us when they are interested in selling some of their collection or when they are looking to get a free appraisal.

A Just Collect customer that has been buying from us for years recently responded to our "Exclusive Invitation" insert that offers a "FREE APPRAISAL & an OFFER." The initial collection that he forwarded via an Excel spreadsheet was evaluated and eventually purchased and we highlighted it in the "1955 Topps All American PSA Graded near Set Collection". He was so pleased with our evaluation and offer that he forwarded some additional cards from his collection. He remarked, "I watched the auctions close for the All Americans that you bought from me and I was astonished at how close your guesses were to the final prices." We are pleased that he followed the auctions and we're happy that he felt our evaluation was accurate, but we assure you that the evaluations aren't "guesses." We painstakingly evaluate previous and current sales records and trends to establish and identify the current market value of each card and share these line-item evaluations with the seller. In the case of the All-American collection, our appraisal and the final realized auction price varied by less than 4%. Given the fluctuation in the market and variances from auction to auction, we think our customer was right, that is pretty "astonishing."

He was so impressed, that he forwarded another portion of his PSA graded collection for evaluation and we were able to quickly evaluate, make an offer and agree on the purchase price. This collection, featuring mostly PSA 8 graded cards, highlighted football issues from 1956 and 1957 as well as a few left over cards from his 1955 All American Set that didn't make the PSA 8 cut.

1957 Topps PSA 8 Frank Gifford

Many Hall of Famers are featured in both sets, most notably Lenny Moore's rookie card in the 1956 Set that grades a strong PSA 8 NM/MT. Additionally, all-time greats like Frank Gifford, George Blanda, Lou Groza, Leo Nomellini, Mike McCormack, Art Donovan (one of the funniest athletes I've ever heard on the banquet circuit – as I mention in the video below, check out some of his appearances with Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show via YouTube), Chuck Bednarik, Norm Van Brocklin and Ollie Matson. Most of these cards are currently up for auction on eBay and will be ending this Sunday, November 6th.

We're pretty sure that these will also close at close to the prices we evaluated and we look forward to the seller putting together some of his ungraded collection for us to evaluate in the very near future.

If you have a collection that you may be considering selling or if you are just interested in finding out the value of what you have, please contact us today and we'll be happy to assist you.
