There's Golf Up North

Recently, Just Collect was north of the border in Canada visiting the International Expo and the Toronto area. While there, we were lucky enough to schedule several appointments to visit with some folks to review their collections. The great news is that we were able to buy several of these collections including some very sharp 1959 Topps Hockey cards (with several Hulls and Howes), a 1958 Bobby Hull rookie card and plenty of other baseball and hockey cards.  We will be buying additional cards from several of these great collections in the near future.  We travel quite often, so check out our calendar to see if we will be in your area any time soon.

The Card

One specific collection included a very scarce golf card featuring Tiger Woods. The card, issued in the 2001 Upper Deck SP Authentic product, has been hand signed by Tiger Woods and has additionally been authenticated and graded PSA 10 GEM MINT by Professional Sports Authenticators, the highest possible grade assigned by PSA. We are currently offering this card for auction on eBay and the auction will end Sunday evening May 21st.

Tiger - The Legendary Run

Woods, who had a strangle-hold on the golf world like no other until injuries put a damper on his incredible career, holds 14 Major Championships. He won 4 Masters including an astounding 3 in 4 years from 2001-2005. This card, issued during the height of Tiger's popularity and while he was the holder of all 4 Major Titles as he simultaneously held the 2000 U.S. Open, 2000 Open Championship, 2000 PGA Championship, and the 2001 Masters Tournament. While not exactly the Grand Slam, as the Masters win was during the 2001 season, all four titles were held at the same time and he is the only golfer to hold all four titles simultaneously. The true Grand Slam, has only been accomplished once previously, by Bobby Jones in 1930. This was prior to the Masters becoming part of the Grand Slam, when the amateur championships counted as major, which Bobby won by claiming the U.S. Open, Open Championship, Amateur Championship and U.S. Amateur Championship.

Just Collect Wants to Buy Golf Cards

We would love to buy more golf cards, but they just don't seem to show up in many collections that we review or purchase.  And there are some fantastic cards out there of some of the greats like Bobby Jones (1928 J. Millhoff Famous Golfers, 1929 Rogers Peet, 1932 U.S. Caramels, 1933 Sport Kings), Ben Hogan (1951 Berk Ross, 1952 Wheaties), Gene Sarazen (1926 Willard Chocolate, 1932 U.S. Caramels, 1933 Sport Kings), Jack Nicklaus (1971 Barratt Famous Sportsmen) and of course, Tiger Woods (1996 S.I. for Kids, 1997-99 Grand Slam Ventures Gold).

Canada & Our Buying Philosophy

We really enjoy going to Canada to meet with collectors.  We've made some great friends and many of the people that we've purchased from continue to contact us with more collections when they come across them.  We are most appreciative and we offer a generous referral program for anyone, whether in Canada or the U.S., to anyone that refers a collection to us that we end up purchasing from that lead.  We've had some great collections that we've bought both while in Canada and also from some folks sending their collections in for evaluation.   While most Americans think of Canada as a hockey, we've found a wide variety of baseball, football, lacrosse and non-sport cards as well as a huge array of hockey cards.

We've run into a wide range of people and collections over the past decade. Although we are known for buying vintage sports cards, we are also extremely interested in buying non-sports cards, too!

Every collection and every collector is different and we treat EVERY collection with the respect and attention that we show for our own collections. We understand that many have put their heart and soul into building their collection. So when you're ready to sell, Just Collect understands the feelings that you're going through and we will work with you to help you reach a decision that is a WIN/WIN, because if you're not happy, we're not happy.

We Are Always Buying
