A 1935 Goudey baseball card UNCUT sheet with Babe Ruth shocked the world at Fanatics Fest today in New York City. Just Collect proudly purchased and brokered a deal for this rare and historic piece.
Just Collect is setup at Fanatics Fest in booth 3045 this weekend buying and selling collections all weekend. As one of the World's largest buyers of vintage cards, we've been very fortunate to have purchased incredible collections. Just a few weeks ago we purchased a a collection of 1909-1911 T206 cards with 26 Hindu backs. Cards from the 1800's were purchased in our 19th Century Baseball Collection. We previously purchased a collection of 1933 Goudey baseball cards that included 22 Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig cards. It's not often we find a piece that we've never held in our hands before! Then, today happened.
A gentleman named Robert from Long Island saw our display of vintage cards at the booth and knew he stopped by the right place. From his envelope, Robert pulled out an UNCUT SHEET of 1935 Goudey baseball cards. When Goudey designed their 1935 set, they created a card 2-3/8” by 2-7/8” in size with four players on one card. The 4-on-1 set officially named R321, were all intact on the original sheet! Best of all: this sheet features BABE RUTH. How did Robert obtain one of the greatest finds our hobby has seen? Robert paid $75 for the old trunk. Say that out loud again - $75. The American dream. We always tell you that you may find vintage cards in unexpected places!
We paid Robert much, much more than $75 and sent him a wire transfer while he was at the booth! This uncut sheet has already found a new home today! Just Collect helped Robert broker a deal with private sale in collaboration with our friend Brian Dwyer at REA Auctions.
