1932 Sanella Margarine
That card above with the beautiful, color image of Ruth is from the 1932 Sanella Margarine set called "Handbuch des Sports." This multi-sport card set was produced in Germany and are 2-3/4" x 4-18" inches. In total, 112 cards are in the set, but card #83 is what you'll want! Checking the most recently-sold cards on eBay, graded examples, THIS example was sold for $590. An authentic Babe Ruth card that is 93 years-old for under $600!
1929 WA & AC Churchman Sports and Games
A 25-card set made in the UK, each card measures 2-5/8" x 1-3/8" and has Churchman's Cigarettes on the front. The most famous tobacco card set, 1909-11 T206, has examples that be be very expensive such as Ty Cobb and the Holy Grail of cards, Honus Wagner, the Churchman cards are very affordable! Card #25 is technically titled "Baseball, U.S.A.", but we know that image and swing anywhere; this card features Babe Ruth. THIS card, graded PSA 3, was sold recently for just $725.30!
1932 Bulgaria Sport-Photos
Another tobacco release, 272 cards makeup the Bulgaria Sport-Photos set. Made in German, Bulgaria Zigaretten cards are black and white. Card #256 is the only American baseball player in the set and features Ruth! If you thought the Sanella and Churchman cards were a steal at their value, you'll want to jump at a Bulgaria Ruth; THIS card is graded PSA 2 and was recently sold for $471!
