Our SECOND Uncut Sheet of Cards Featuring Babe Ruth!

Another UNCUT sheet of cards featuring BABE RUTH? The historic discoveries and purchases continue here at Just Collect.

Last year, a gentleman carrying an uncut sheet of 1935 Goudey cards came to the Just Collect booth at Fanatics Fest. The cards were discovered in an old trunk purchased from Facebook Marketplace for $75. On that sheet of cards was BABE RUTH. You can see the sheet and the whole story unfold HERE. While traveling to the Topps conference in Atlanta, GA., our owner, Leighton, went on a treasure hunt to evaluate and purchase collections. A long-time collector reached out to Just Collect for a free appraisal and met Leighton in-person. There went Leighton's jaw on the floor for the second time in under a year!

This is an UNCUT sheet of W512 cards. These W512 cards measure 1 3/8" x 2 1/4" and came in a strip that were produced in 1926-1927. The strip was meant to be hand-cut and collected. In total, 60 cards make up the whole set which includes baseball players, boxers, golfers, tennis players, aviators, and celebrities.

BABE RUTH! The baseball legend who slugged 714 home runs and became a household name around the world.

in 1927, Ruth tallied a then-record and unheard of 60 home runs in one season. The 1927 Yankees is perhaps the greatest baseball team ever assembled winning 110 games against 44 losses and one tie. A World Series win capped off this incredible season for Ruth and his Yankees.

How did this nearly 100-year-old strip survive? Long, long before collectors safely stored their cards, someone knew NOT to cut up this strip. Before television, no Internet, and when a house only set you back about $6,000, this W512 strip with Babe Ruth rolled off the production line and has survived a Century!
