The Last TD Ball Tom Brady Threw Before Unretiring Sold for $129,657

Just Collect Is Buying Tom Brady Collections
  • January 14, 2023

Remember when Tom Brady retired from the NFL? ...for a few weeks. The football Brady launched for this "last" touchdown was sold at auction and even though Brady is still playing, the ball is worth a pretty penny. Our very own Leighton Sheldon also got to hold the ball!

On January 23rd, 2022 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional round of the playoffs. With 3:20 left in the fourth quarter, Tom Brady threw a 55-yard touch down pass to Mike Evans bringing the Bucs within 7 points. Evans tossed the ball into the crowd which isn't usually a bad thing; great souvenir for a fan. However, the Rams would go on to win the game on their way to a Super Bowl championship, and Tom Brady retired! Evans threw (at the time) the last Touch Down pass of Brady's legendary career.

Tom Brady Last Touchdown Football

We all know what happened - Brady unretired shortly thereafter. Initially the ball was offered at auction but after the news broke of Brady coming back to the league, the sale was voided. That same ball was sold at auction after the dust settled, and the final price was 129,657.60

Brady has thrown more touch down passes since this ball but this is still a very rare piece of history. We imagine very few of Brady's 649 TD balls will become available. While the ball may not be Brady's last TD, it's a touch down from Brady, and that is incredible.

Our owner, Leighton, was able to hold this very ball! Even though he's a Jets fan, he could not pass up the chance to hold history.

Tom Brady is back in the playoffs as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Wild Card round on Monday night. If you're wondering how many playoff TDs Brady has thrown, he is at 86 for his stories career. Do you think he'll add to this total on Monday?

If you have Tom Brady memorabilia, autographs, or rookie cards in your collection that you would like to sell, we are buying! We purchased a BGS 9.5 2000 Bowman Chrome rookie card that you can read about HERE.
