New call-to-action

The 1952 Topps baseball set is second to none. If you've never held a card from the 1952 set in your hands, wait until one of these is in your personal collection. Each card measures 2-5/8" by 3-3/4” in size. For comparison, a standard-sized card today only measures 2-1/2" by 3-1/2” in size. Topps obtained black and white photos of each player and had had artist renderings don the front of each card. The colors are rich and eyepopping even to this day. The backs of each card have player information, blurbs about their careers, and of course the stats! Remember before the Internet and all of the media outlets we have now? When the only way you knew a player's batting average was by reading the stats on the back of their baseball card.

It's not often a complete set becomes available. The scarcity of the "high numbered" cards makes it difficult to build complete sets of 1952 Topps baseball. Why the cards with higher numbers are more rare than the cards in the beginning of the set is a wild story - the cards were dumped into the Ocean!

In 1952, Topps released their set in multiple series during the baseball season. This idea sounded like a fine marketing tool at the time. By releasing cards numbered 1-80 in "series 1" and not releasing all 407 cards simultaneously, collectors would not be able to build a complete set of cards early in the baseball season. This would keep collectors purchasing cards all season, or so Topps and distributors thought. When Fall came around, collectors were more interested in football. The forgotten sixth series, cards #311 - 407, were disposed of by being dumped into the Atlantic Ocean! Guess which player has the majority of his rookie cards lost forever in a burial at sea? Mickey Mantle. Card #311 is Mickey Mantle's rookie card.

1952 Topps 5 -1

All cards, including the Mantle rookie is in this set break. With 407 cards in the set, Vintage Breaks is only offering 407 spots in the set break - this ensures that you will take home a card from the set. The list of names is always randomized LIVE on the show as the break occurs; you have the same chance as everyone else in the break to land the cards you desire. For example, if after the random your name lands on spot #411, you take home the Mickey Mantle card! Every spot you purchase will bring a vintage card from this 1952 Topps set to your personal collection. A card to take you back in time to 1952 when I Love Lucy was the top TV show, the Detroit Lions were NFL Champions (yes, that's how long ago 1952 was; the Lions were good!), and a gallon of gas was only 20 CENTS. Back to the days of putting your cards in a shoebox with rubber bands around your stack to keep your cards together, playing FLIP with your extras, and putting cards in your bike spokes.

Each spot is only $395! For details and to purchase a spot, click here:
