An iconic non-sports set was purchased by Just Collect - 1962 Topps Mars Attacks. Yes, we DO buy non-sports cards!
The coolest and perhaps most recognizable vintage non-sports set is 1962 Topps Mars Attacks. At Just Collect, we are always buying vintage sports cards such as Mickey Mantle rookie cards, 1909-11 T206 tobacco cards. and cards of stars such as Joe Namath, Bill Russell, and more. However, we are always interested in pre-1970s non-sports cards! We had the honor of evaluating and purchasing an all-time classic with these two 1962 Topps Mars Attacks sets!
Made by Topps back in 1962, this 55-card set gives a colorful, imaginary look at what would happen if Martians came down to Earth. Measuring 2.5"x3.5", each card you hold is like a scene from a graphic comic book. Aliens burning flesh and eating humans is fairly gory for a release today much less back 63 years ago! When you flip each card over, details of the attack are present.
Like many cards from the 1960's, few were stored properly. Back when we thought the future was going to be like The Jetsons and not aliens yielding ray guns, kids were trading, flipping, and putting cards in bike spokes rather than placing cards in holders. The Mars Attacks set is hard to find in top condition for these reasons. PSA, one of the top card grading companies, has only graded one card - ever - as a PSA 10 (the highest grade a card can receive; a pristine-conditioned card). To-date, 21,378 cards have been graded by PSA and just ONE card has remained in perfect condition since 1962!
Look how creepy the aliens and bugs are! Card number one, the Invasion Begins - the alien has a glass helmet, a big brain for a head, and red eyes - yikes! We wouldn't want to be the person in card 28, Helpless Victim, being eaten by a nasty-looking bug.

A gentleman named Peter found us via Google search and used our link on the Just Collect site. If you're interested in selling a collection, we do offer FREE appraisals! After reviewing the images, we made Peter a fair offer. The retail stores are focused on selling modern products and simply don't have the time or the knowledge to carefully evaluate vintage collections, especially a non-sports collection like these Mars Attacks. This is where we are happy to help you! Peter accepted our offer for both sets and opted to SHIP the collection with our two-day, fully-insured FedEx account. We then mailed Peter a company check. When you choose to sell your collection to Just Collect, we pay you how you want to be paid, be it company check, cash, or wire transfer.
While Peter chose to ship his collection, we offer many ways to evaluate and purchase collections! You're invited to come to our Just Collect store in Summit, New Jersey, meet us at a convention or show, and we do travel for large collections as we did in our trip to purchase The Nebraska Collection. If you're interested in selling your collection, we'd love to hear from you today!
Just Collect is always buying vintage sports and non-sports cards from 1879 to 1979 as well as select modern cards. If you have a collection that you are considering selling, contact us today to discuss or get our industry-leading purchase offer. If you have a collection that you want appraised, please contact us and we would be happy to discuss your collection and help you understand the real cash value of your collection in the current marketplace. Check out the Just Collect Buy List.
We always offer a FREE APPRAISAL for your collection here at the Just Collect site. Just click here:
We offer may ways to evaluate your cards other than or using our website, too.
If you can make the trip here like the son from my hometown did for this collection- we can make a deal at the office. We once met a father-son duo that drove eight hours from Virginia to meet us to sell a Michael Jordan rookie card stored in Tupperware since 1986 - great read here.
We keep a LIST of card shows we'll be attending. Come stop by the Just Collect table and chat.
If you have a valuable collection and want us to come to you, we'll hop on the next plane out.
If you're near New York City and would like to meet in a public place, our owner, Leighton, would be happy to meet you; read all the information here.
If you choose to mail your cards for an appraisal, we will evaluate your cards for FREE still. If you choose not to sell the cards, we'll ship them back shipping fees paid by us! We can offer our FedEx account with 2-day shipping, fully insured, all covered by us. Simply contact the office to set up this option.
We've run into a wide range of people and collections over the last 25 years. Although Just Collect is known for buying vintage sports cards and especially vintage baseball cards, we are also extremely interested in buying non-sports cards, too!
Every collection and every collector is different and we treat EVERY collection with the respect and attention that we show for our own collections. We understand that many have put their heart and souls into building their collections. So when you're ready to sell, we understand the feelings that you're going through and will work with you to help you reach a decision that is a WIN/WIN, because if you're not happy, we're not happy.
Whether you have vintage cards or modern wax you want to sell, you can reach out to us any time!
