T206 Eye Appeal

Eye appeal. You hear the term bandied about with regard to vintage cards but when it comes to the T206 set, it may be the most important quality a card can have. Smaller cards, especially those now more than a century old, tend to show wear. We all know that the printing process of the era wasn’t perfect so you’ll often see miscut or badly off-center cards. That’s why we’re so excited about some of the T206 cards we’ve been offering—and those we have up on eBay right now. When it comes to eye appeal, you can’t “look” away from these. They’re just flat out nice. While many carry what we call ‘mid grade’ designations by PSA, they present much nicer so you get the best of both worlds: nice looking cards that won’t cost an arm and a leg. The last batch we sold generated strong bidding from a core of enthusiastic T206 fans. We’ve got another batch on the block right now that includes a variety of players, from both the majors and the minors. For true scholars of baseball, the minor leaguers in the set are often just as much fun as the big league players. You can’t own them without going online or to the excellent “T206: The Players and Their Stories” book published recently to learn more about the players on Newark, Jersey City, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis and other cities that had franchises whose players were featured in the set. Some of those we’re offering feature hard-to-find backs. All of them start at just $9.99 plus shipping. We continue to be very bullish on graded, pre-War vintage cards. They obviously aren’t getting any easier to find and they have held their value and more over the years. The solid advice “buy the best you can afford” holds true. You won’t be sorry. And you won’t be disappointed with the cards we’ve got up for auction right now.
