The most famous baseball card of all-time, the T206 Honus Wagner, is coming to auction. If you've dreamed of owning a Holy Grail, here is your chance! We are always buying rare T206 tobacco cards as well as other vintage collections here at Just Collect.

The Holy Grail of baseball cards is about to be publicly available. One of the most desired releases in the hobby is the 1909-11 T206 set. Rather than the cards coming into the wax packs with a stick of gum that you remember from when you were a kid, these baseball cards were inserted into packs of tobacco. In total, 16 different brands of tobacco used baseball cards to advertise their products. On the front of each card is a picture of the player, and on the back is the ad for each tobacco brand. In total, 524 cards were made, and some of these are quite rare! The T206 set is the home of the famous T206 Honus Wagner card.

Honus Wagner

For unknown reasons, Honus Wagner chose to NOT have his card produced in the T206 set. The top two theories are that either Wagner hoped to prevent kids from using tobacco or that he had a financial dispute with the American Tobacco Company. Printing stopped for the Wagner card, leaving fewer than 100 copies of the card known to exist.

When a record price paid for a sports card falls, it is usually a T206 Honus Wagner. Last Summer, a Wagner card was sold for 7.5 million dollars!

This particular T206 Honus Wagner has been graded by PSA as Authentic and has been restored. Mile High Auction Co. posted a picture of the card on their Facebook page that you can see HERE.A Wagner has not been on the market for over a year!
