Is this 2013 Precious Metal Gem Hulk Hogan card the most expensive wrestling card? Join us as we dive into the numbers on just how rare this card is and compare it to other valuable wrestling cards.
As John Cena walked out of WrestleMania with his record 17th world championship, we looked back on our childhood favorites. While we loved the Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, and the poor Brooklyn Brawler who never did get wins, only one name really stands out - Hulk Hogan.
Hogan had us saying our prayers, eating our vitamins, and thinking we could rip our shirts in half. We couldn't. Still can't. However, we do love seeing the classic WWF wrestlers on cards to take us back to those carefree days. Leighton, the owner of Just Collect, MAY own the most expensive wrestling card ever made!
Recently, you read about Precious Metal Gems. PMG inserts are highly-sought after cards and aren't typically found in "the wild." Collectors tend to hold onto their Gems in order to complete a set. When Leighton had the opportunity to purchase a Hulk Hogan precious metal gem, as soon as he saw the specifics of the card, he made the deal faster than Hulk could hit a leg drop on Andre.
In 2013, Upper Deck made an exclusive Employee set of Precious Metal Gem cards. Just six cards are in the set, and only 125 copies of each card were made. Neither card was ever inserted into a pack! The only way to obtain a card was by working for Upper Deck. Over the years, employees ended up selling cards as a few hit the open market. One such card, a Hulk Hogan, was graded PSA 10! To date, only 35 of the Hogan cards have ben graded by PSA and only 4 were graded a Gem Mint 10.

A Hogan PMG hasn't been sold according to PSA since December of 2023, and that card was graded PSA 8. In 2023, a PSA 8 was auctioned with a final price of $9,600. As you know, a grade change of even just one number can alter the value of a card by thousands of dollars! What would the value of this PSA 10 be here in 2025?
Recently, a 1982 Wrestling All-Stars card graded PSA 9 was sold for $132,000! That is a record price for wrestling card. According to the PSA population report, there are 18 of these cards graded PSA 9 and zero graded PSA 10. Estimates for this 1982 release are only 2,000 sets were made. The cards were sold as a set, wrapped in cellophane. The most expensive wrestling card has 1,875 more cards produced than the PMG and all have been graded lower!
The next big wrestling card is 1985 Topps WWF, card number 1. This Hulk Hogan card graded PSA 10 was last sold for $19,700 in January of this year. Currently, PSA has graded 2,674 of these Hogan cards and 15 have been graded PSA 10. These cards were distributed in wax packs with 9 cards and 1 sticker per pack.
Modern products do have rare 1/1 cards, but could either be as valuable as this PMG? What do YOU think? Tell us in the comments below or post on any of our socials!
