Legendary NBA player, Bill Russell, is auctioning off some of his personal collection that include his Celtics championship rings, trophies, and more. Proceeds are going to a wonderful cause, too. The items are currently on display at the National for you to see this week!
Just Collect arrived at The National and the first display we saw is a sign of good things to come! Bill Russell has his personal items on display that we were able to get a look at, and you can as well!
is offering Russell's personal items in an auction coming this Fall. The proceeds of the sales will help Russell's charity, MENTOR, to help in mentoring our youth. Among the items being auctioned off are:
- 1964-65 Bill Russell Boston Celtics NBA Most Valuable Player Award
- Bill Russell Boston Celtics Professional Model Warm Up Jacket c.1960s
- 1964 Bill Russell U.S. State Department NBA All-Star Team Professional Model Jersey
- Bill Russell 1969 Boston Celtics NBA Championship Ring
You can see the items yourself, in-person! Some of the collectables are on display here at the National. Our owner, Leighton, took these pictures when he saw the cases! What stands out is Russell's Olympic Gold Medal from 1956; AMAZING to see as we are underway in Tokyo for the games now!
