Collector of 50 + Years Talks About His TWO 1914 Babe Ruth Baltimore News

Leighton Chats With Long-Time Collector About 1914 Baltimore News Cards
  • March 14, 2024

TWO 1914 Babe Ruth Baltimore News rookie cards? Yes, Dan McKee and his dad had a pair of the famous rookie which sold for over 7 million dollars. Watch Leighton chat with Dan, a collector of 54 years, about 1914 Baltimore News cards live from The Philly Show.

While at The Philly Show, buying and selling collections, our booth neighbor, Dan McKee, had purchased a 1914 Baltimore News baseball card. I then learned that Dan and his father owned not one but TWO 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth rookie cards! In August of 2022, one of these cards was sold for 7.2 MILLION dollars. I had to sit down and talk with Dan about these historic cards.

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me and showing us your amazing Baltimore News card you purchased at the show, Dan! He mentioned a lot of the Baltimore News cards were found in the attics of old Row homes in Baltimore. Attics are certainly one of the Unexpected Places I advise to always check for vintage cards!

Did you catch the part about buying 1909-1911 T206 cards for TEN CENTS? A dime. You can't buy a holder to protect your cards  today let alone buy a T206 for ten cents! These are the priceless stories I love hearing from long-time collectors like Dan.

If you have any 1914 Baltimore News cards, Babe Ruth cards, or other vintage cards you're interested in selling, I am always buying! As a vintage card specialist and owner of Just Collect, I have the knowledge and experience to carefully appraise and value your collections that a modern hobby shop does not. A baseball card treasure hunter, if you will! Recently, I have purchased hundreds of 1909-1911 T206 cards including Cy Young and Ty Cobb. I also discovered and purchased 1914 Cracker Jack baseball cards include a Shoeless Joe Jackson! When it comes to Babe Ruth baseball cards, this collection of 22 Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig cards is just so spectacular, I still dream about seeing all of the cards spread out on the table. My name is Leighton, owner of Just Collect, and if you're interested in selling your collection, reach out directly to
