Just Collect's HUGE Trade of 50 + Mickey Mantle Cards for T206 Ty Cobb

Over 50 Graded Mickey Mantles and Dozens of HOF Stars Traded for Stunning T206 Ty Cobb
  • August 16, 2024

A trade for the ages was made here at Just Collect! Including over FIFTY graded Mickey Mantle cards and dozens of graded cards of Hall of Famers such as Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Ted Williams, a historic collection was traded for a gorgeous 1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb card. Check out the cards involved, the prized Cobb, and how you could make trades and purchases with Just Collect.

While at the National, we were offered an incredible traded from a wonderful collector named Todd. Spotting a 1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb, bat off shoulder version, graded PSA 5.5 at our booth, Todd was interested in making a TRADE for the card. Perhaps Todd saw our video in which our owner, Leighton, made a different trade at the National for a 1914 Cracker Jack card just days earlier. Todd and Leighton worked out a massive trade together at the show!

Todd is a vintage card collector and had been eyeing the "bat on shoulder" version of the Ty Cobb card from the famous 1909-1911 T206 set. Recently, Just Collect discovered and purchased a collection of T206 cards with rare Hindu backs that you can see here. The Hindu backs are quite rare; we teach you about the different T206 backs and how rare each are on The Vintage Spotlight. If you're in the market for T206 card, Just Collect is the place to find one, and Todd knew to come right over to our booth!

With centering to dream about and eye appeal for days, you can see Cobb clutching his lumber and resting it on his left shoulder. There are several different Ty Cobb cards in the T206 set including a card where Cobb is posed differently and the bat is not on his shoulder. The colors behind the Cobb card that Todd was interested in are popping - look at the yellow and orange sky behind Cobb. According to the PSA Population report, only THREE of these Ty Cobb bat on shoulder cards with a Piedmont 350 back have been graded higher than this 5.5!
