THE NEBRASKA COLLECTION

550 pounds of rare cards, a check for $77,000, and a close call with airport security! Just Collect has proudly discovered and purchased The Nebraska Collection which includes sports cards, memorabilia, premiums, food-issued cards, and more than we could dream of. This collection hasn't seen the light of day in 50 years! 

This collection was SO massive, it not only includes premiums from Mickey Mantle like you see above and Babe Ruth items, but the following:

• 1914 B18 Baseball Blankets
• 1936 Diamond Matchbooks
• 1952 Bowman baseball cards
• 1960's Bazooka cards
• 1962 Post Cereal cards
• 1963 Jell-O Cards
• 1971 Milk Duds boxes

THE OREGON FARM COLLECTION

A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card was discovered in a shed on a family farm decades after their dad stored a card collection there! 

In 1952, a young man started a childhood baseball card collection, just like you and we did. Between 1952 and 1958, the lad would go to his local general store and purchase packs. Opening up each pack, moving that stick of gum to the side (remember when wax packs of cards had gum inside?), the collector dug into those cardboard treasures. As he grew older, the young man lost interest in the cards and eventually stored them in boxes in the back of the shed on his family's farm in South Oregon. 

Decades later, in the 1980's, the man's daughter went out to that old family shed and discovered cardboard boxes filled with baseball cards.

1986 FLEER BASKETBALL SET WITH ORGINAL RECEIPT

A complete 1986-87 Fleer basketball set including the Michael Jordan rookie card with the ORIGINAL RECEIPT from the purchase back in 1986 was discovered by us at Just Collect. 

On September 11th, 1987, Chris' mom walked into a Paper Express / Sports and Sorts with a cool $20 in-hand. For a measly $19.20, she purchased a complete set of 1986-87 Fleer basketball cards and tucked the receipt away with the set. Nearly 40 years later, Chris still had the set, receipt, and of course the Michael Jordan rookie card!

1990's PRECIOUS METAL GEMS

Precious Metal Gems came into our world in 1997-98. Cards from this set is wildly popular with collectors for three reasons: scarcity, numbering, and condition.

Scarcity:

Each card is serial-numbered to only 100 copies ever produced. Each pack of 1997-98 Metal Universe basketball cards were originally sold for $2.49 cents. The odds of pulling a single Precious Metal Gem card from a pack is 1 in every 17,500 packs! 

A little math tells us you could spend $43,575 dollars in 1997, equivalent to about $86,515 today just to pull ONE of the PMG cards!

While at the Philly Show where we set up to buy and sell collections, a gentleman from New Zealand stopped by our booth. Noticing we were buying collections, he asked if Just Collect was interested in purchasing his collection of 1990's Celtics basketball cards. The moment we saw the cards, our jaws dropped.

While traveling to the Topps conference in Atlanta, GA., our owner, Leighton, went on a treasure hunt to evaluate and purchase collections. A long-time collector reached out to Just Collect for a free appraisal and met Leighton in-person. There went Leighton's jaw on the floor for the second time in under a year!

If you choose not to sell the cards, we'll ship them back shipping fees paid by us!  We can offer our FedEx account with 2-day shipping, fully insured, all covered by us.
