Finding near-mint condition baseball cards from the 1960's isn't something that happens every day so when complete sets in top condition become available, Just Collect is very interested in buying them.  I'm proud to have purchased a fully PSA-graded 1965 Topps baseball set with every card graded 8 or better! Read how simple it is to sell Just Collect a PSA graded collection like this from anywhere in the world.

When the opportunity to purchase a complete 1965 Topps baseball set, fully graded by PSA, became available I was excited to make an offer for the set. Every card in the set had been given a grade of no lower than 8!  The set is now 56 years-old.  Think back to what you or your dad did with those cards back in 1965.  I bet you opened up your nickel pack of cards and either played a game of FLIP or put the cards in your bike spokes to make your ride sound like a motorcycle. This set survived the walls and bikes and looks incredible.  Not only will I show you how easy it is to sell your PSA-graded sets to Just Collect, you'll see how you can get in on a set break to own these exact cards (yes, including the Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, plus the Joe Morgan and Steve Carlton rookies - every card!) in a 1965 Topps set break.

1965 TOPPS BASEBALL CARD SET FACTS

  • 598 cards; the largest set to date
  • Released in 7 different series
  • Key cards = Joe Morgan rookie (#16), Roberto Clemente (#160), Hank Aaron (#170), Willie Mays (#250), Sandy Koufax (#300), Mickey Mantle (#350), Carl Yastrzemski (#385), Steve Carlton rookie (#477),  and Ernie Banks (#510)

The team names are shown in a pennant.  See the Giants logo on the Willie Mays here on the bottom left?  Remembering tacking a pennant of your favorite team to your bedroom wall as a kid? Sometimes I'd knock Yankees pennant down by accident, usually trying to dunk my NERF basketball on hoop I sat on the top of the door.  After four of five times of needing to put the pennants back on the wall, the wall had a few holes in it that got hard to hide from dad.

PSA grades cards on a scale from 1 to 10.  The PSA pop report shows us the statistics of each card they've graded, including those from this collection. For example, PSA has graded a little over 4,700 copies of the Mickey Mantle card (#350) but only 447 of those have ever received a grade of 8. There are only 57 copies with a grade of 9, and ZERO cards have been graded a perfect 10!

BUYING THE SET

For this 1965 Topps PSA graded set, I met the seller in-person. Once we agreed on a price, I paid the seller cash.

I'm proud to tell you that I can offer 70 to 80% of retail value on a graded collection; more than most other companies

I know what you're thinking: sell at 80%? I can just sell my cards on eBay or auction houses and get the full 100% value...

Two reasons you would consider to selling to us:  FEES to sell them yourself via eBay or auction houses and TIME it takes to sell them

  • eBay Final value fees are about 12% of the total sale up to $7,500 per card and then 2.35% of the portion of the sale over $7,500. Promotional fees would be on top of that.  To see other reasons as well read our article here about selling on eBay.
  • TIME. There are 598 cards in the set.  You would have to make 598 different auctions and ship out 598 different packages if you were not able to sell to one buyer.

Auction houses charge consignment fees and you run the risk of your collection not pulling in the bid amount you desire. For example, if the final sale price of your set at the auction house is $40,000, the total price becomes $48,000 as the buyer has to pay a 20% premium to the auction house that does not go to you.  You have to pay the commission of 5% on the $40,000, netting you $38,000 for your set.  A $48,000 total sale price profits you $38,000 at the auction house.

For a quality graded set such as 1965 Topps baseball we would pay 75-80% if it's value.  In this case if we agree it's worth $48,000 then we would pay $36,000 to $38,400.  With us, you a have a bird in the hand, you don't have to wait, and there is no risk.  You know exactly what you'll get paid for your set (or collection).

Call me anytime to discuss your options as I've worked for an auction house, owned an eBay consignment business, and have bought/sold over $50 million of vintage cards!  You can read about me, Leighton, right here on our website.

I offer many easy ways to evaluate and to buy your collections:
  • FREE APPRAISAL on the site

I provide a FREE APPRAISAL on our site where you can tell me about your collection as well as upload photos.

  • SHIP your collection

If you choose to mail your cards for an appraisal, I will evaluate your cards for FREE still. If you choose not to sell the cards, I'll ship them back shipping fees paid by us!  I can offer my FedEx account with 2-day shipping, fully insured, all covered by me. Simply contact the office or myself to set up this option.

  • Travel to me

If you can make the trip here - we can make a deal at the office. I once met a father-son duo that drove eight hours from Virginia to meet me to sell a Michael Jordan rookie card stored in Tupperware since 1986 - great read here

  • Come to show

I keep a LIST of card shows I'll be attending.  Come stop by the Just Collect table and chat.

If you and I agree on a a deal for your collection, I'll pay you in cash, check, wire transfer, or I'll offer to patch the holes in your wall you put there trying to hang your pennants back up.

VINTAGE BREAKS: YOUR SHOT AT THE SET

One of the reasons I'm able to pay more for collections than other companies is because of the sister company to Just Collect - Vintage Breaks.

As the owner of Vintage Breaks, I'm able to offer certain collections I purchase through Just Collect on the Vintage Breaks site.  At Vintage Breaks, you're able to buy spots into both vintage and hot modern packs, boxes, or sets.  I offer a wide variety of products so there is something for everyone at "VB."

EVERY card from this exact set is available at Vintage Breaks in our new set break.  Buying 1 spot in the break guarantees you 1 card from the set.  All purchases will be randomized live during the Vintage Break broadcast, and after the random, you'll receive the card that matches up with your name.

Taxes and shipping are always included at Vintage Breaks. The price you see is what you'll pay for your spot where you may even land on the PSA 8 Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, or even the Joe Morgan rookie!
